Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949 is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a public speaker as a consultant, speaker, columnist syndicated, author, and TV show host. The Corcoran Group, an NY-based real estate broker, was founded by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the business. Corcoran is one of ABC's first Shark investors has been part of each episode of Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February, 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran is the second child of 10 from a Catholic family with a low-income was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's early years. Sometimes, the family relied upon deliveries of free food from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father being an intoxicated man who would sometimes treat her mother with condescension and disrespect, particularly after having consumed alcohol. Corcoran struggled throughout her schooling, later learning that she was dyslexic. Corcoran attended a Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite having failed several classes during her first year of high school.
